A Revelation on the Immaculate Conception of Mary to a Capuchin Friar

The Lord, who takes singular delight in the more ardent fervors of the love of His own, honored with the gift of heavenly Revelations the more burning desires of charity of His servant Pacificus.
Indeed, one day, while he was Guardian at the Convent of Gubbio, when the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary was being celebrated there, after Matins, he prayed more fervently in the Church, and he saw the Blessed Virgin descend from Heaven to Earth, wholly perfumed with heavenly fragrances. At that time, the Sacristan had risen before the others to adorn the altar with greater cleanliness than usual because of the ceremony. As soon as he entered the Church, he perceived a fragrance so sweet that he was astonished by it, and asked Brother Pacificus, whom he saw at prayer, about its cause.
“Do not be astonished,” Brother Pacificus said to him, “these fragrances are not aromatics or perfumes that grow among us; they come from Heaven, and the Earth does not produce them. Nevertheless, speak of this to no one. A short time ago, the Queen of Heaven descended here, and after having taught me, though unworthy, several mysteries that concern her glory, she explained to me in particular that at the first instant of her Conception, she was delivered by the grace of God from the sin of our origin, of which this fragrance is a sensible proof.”
Brother Pacificus, finally, after having lived holy until extreme old age, ended so holy a life with a most glorious death.
