Chapter 5
Let the Brothers to whom the Lord has granted the grace of working do so with faithfulness and devotion so that, avoiding idleness, which is harmful to the soul, they do not extinguish the spirit of holy prayer and devotion, to which all other temporal matters must be subordinate.
As for the reward for their labor, let them receive for themselves and their Brothers only what is necessary for life, except for money or currency. Let them accept this with humility, as is fitting for servants of God and for those who profess the most holy poverty.
